Effective volunteer management in local community

Effective Volunteer Management in Local Community is a training course that gathers 26 participants from Serbia, FYR Macedonia, Kosovo, Croatia, Turkey, Italy and Lithuania. The 8 day long training course will be hosted by applicant organisation USMOC and held in Sremska Mitrovica in Serbia in November 2011.Objectives of the course are: - To share experiences and realities with volunteer work; - To discuss concepts and values of volunteering; - To empower participants to act as effective volunteer managers for benefit of local communities; - To get acquainted with the YiA program and develop future projects that will raise quality of volunteer management in our organisations.The expected results are that youth workers acquire more practical as well as theoretical tools and skills to better involve volunteers their activities. This would involve all managerial aspects such as teamwork, management of staff and volunteers, assessing needs and capacities, development, evaluation and follow-up processes. Another expected result is for youth workers to develop new projects for involving volunteers and young people in their activities.The themes of the project are: volunteering, volunteer management, local community development through volunteer initiatives and active citizenship, YiA programme and development of new projects.The training course will be organised according to the principles of non-formal education with interactive and participatory methodology.
