Our primary school is the only school with Slovak language in this area. It is located in the ethnically mixed area with high representation of Hungarian and Roma nationality. The primary school is attended by pupils aged 6 - 15 years. Our goal is to have a good school and traditional teaching in not enough in this case. We are aware of the necessity of quality language teaching in our school. We want to provide high quality teaching of pupils in foreign languages with the regard to the possibility of school. We want to aim at enhancing communication competence of pupils. We want to form the pupils' internal motivation and active approach to the learning process. Our educational activity is directed to the preparation of pupils for lives of modern humans in Europe. As ICT has become a natural part of everyday life, our goal is to prepare the graduates of school who are able to productively use information and ICT for development of their cognitive abilities in the classroom, in everyday life, but also for their future employment. We want to increase ICT literacy for all students in our school. It is necessary to increase the awareness of teachers in the usage of ICT tools in a teaching context to achieve this goal. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the competence of teachers in new teaching methods that could be applied in teaching several subjects. Two teachers of English took a course focused on the effective use of ICT in education in England. By experiencing a range of practical teaching techniques, participants expanded their own working classroom ideas while developing their English language proficiency. Course in addition to technologies offered new ideas for motivating of pupils, the teachers got a portfolio of teaching resources and other course participants shared ideas and experiences on how to improve the learning process. When they obtained modern approaches to teaching, they were be able to compare their teaching with the teaching at the other schools in Europe. New experiences enriched the way of teaching several subjects like English, Geography, Music, ... and it improved the teaching of our school. The pupils were motivated to their further education. Implementation of the project allowed us to create a database of training materials for the effective use of ICT in teaching at the school web site. It is be available to the public with the presentation of the photographs from the route to England. The open classes for parents, for teachers of our school and neighbouring schools is a great benefit too. Our school is located in the region of Slovakia with bad economic situation and innovations we introduced to our school could be a motivation for other schools in the region.
