The Greece as one of the most earthquake-prone countries in Europe and is particularly sensitive to issues of earthquake protection and safety. Operators have developed memorandums of actions which everyone should follow at school implementing safe evacuation in the event of a major earthquake. Familiarizing staff and students with this process is an ongoing effort with regular exercises in the school premises and frequent updates of the plans. In the context of our awareness in this field and because of the large earthquake which struck our neighbour country and within the framework of retraining of our school staff involved in the protection policy team of the school we believe that the study of situations dealing with the earthquake phenomenon at school level and the procedures applied in the case of a strong earthquake in Italy in 2009 in the province of Abruzzo. Furthermore the changes that it brought to the regulatory framework in the neighboring country will transfer valuable information and practices assisting us in terms of prevention which is very important.Our experience this will be transferred to our school and consequently we have a more comprehensive picture on each annual updating of Earthquake Deffence Plan of our school.In addition a second activity emanates from the belief that practical skills of our students is very important for successful integration into the labour market. Four student groups with two escorts teachers per group will arrive at Plymouth of the United Kingdom to be placed in the workplace but also to train in modern workplaces and socialize living in another European State for two weeks.Experiencing that a large group of students, which at this stage of the economic situation of the country feels excluded from the labour market, we think it will give our students the necessary technical and emotional skills for their upcoming professional careers.
