EDYCATE - Empowering Disadvantaged Young adults for traditional Craft Activities and agroTourism through work-based E-learning

The EDYCATE project aims to build upon the motivation of young unemployed adults through the development of a participatory approach to learning (learning by doing). Through the use of local partnerships involving local authorities, training providers and individual SMEs, the project will contribute to devising an e-learning programme of entrepreneurship training whilst creating mini-companies in the Traditional Craft and Agrotourism sectors. Local partnership networks will provide new structures for the development of a pathway to learning and enterprise creation. Young unemployed adults will themselves be involved in group work, simulation games and on-site visits at all stages of the project to include training needs identification and the development of learning materials, support manuals and assessment tools. An infrastructure will exist to enable participants to communicate with other local partnerships through an interactive project website and via teleconferences. End training products and support documentation will be produced on CD-Rom and/or DVD.Information on project progress will be disseminated through traditional means (articles to press and journals, attendance at seminars) in addition to being cascaded to other relevant 'initial training' actors via tutor workshops. Policy makers, project partners and local partnership network participants will be invited to participate in final national dissemination events and in a final project teleconference.
