Our project (which falls into a option of ″National youth meetings‴) is directed to pupils from middle schools, high schools and vocational schools (300 participants). Our aim is to familiarize youth with the UN Millennium Development Goals and the European Consensus on Development. Trough that project we would like to raise youth awareness of active citizenship, civil rights and consequently encourage young people to participate in discussions about those issues as well as help them to define and express their own needs. In order to achieve that we are planning to organize and conduct on Podlasie Voivodship 15 workshops for pupils, which focused on active citizenship, defining owns needs and attract their attention to needs of others (Development Education). The next stage of the project will be the preparation and conduct a debate or a discussion about youth needs in schools, and after that the representatives of schools will be invited to Bia¬ystok on workshops and debate with policymakers. The whole project will last 8 months, youth meeting in Bia¬ystok – 2 days. The expected result of our project is increase of young people’s participation in social life and their sensitivity to needs of others, in respect of the European Consensus on Development.
