Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

For I SLO im. Unii Europejskiej in Zamość:- cooperation with foreign partners has always been a priority and we intend to treat it as an important direction for development in drawing on others’ examples and improving employees’ competence;- development of intercultural cooperation and communication skills in teachers and school management board is perceived as an excellent chance to keep a strong position of Szkoły Społeczne im. Unii Europejskiej in the future;- international character of the school will be a considerable challenge in the future, also in terms of developing foreign language competence of teachers. That is why I SLO im. Unii Europejskiej in Zamość sets itself the following specific objectives under this project:- within 2 years of implementing the project 24 teachers will get to know methods of working with students in multicultural society; More and more often Polish teachers need to deal with multicultural groups of students. Their previous experience in this field is very limited. The increasing number of people migrating within EU will bring about growing problems in such groups of students. That is why it is even more important to get such knowledge in peripheral regions, like Zamość, where it is difficult to gain proper competences in this field.- within 2 years of implementing this project 24 teachers will get to know practical multicultural communication tools in school education. Teachers constantly need new innovative tools to work with students especially in multicultural groups. Such tools are not available in their country. That is why it is so important to observe other teachers at work.- within 2 years of implementing this project 24 teachers of I SLO im. Unii Europejskiej in Zamość will gain new competence in working with students within multicultural groups. Mobility of teachers is intended to make it possible for teachers to gain new competence in working with students in multicultural classes. Germany, especially Schwaebisch Hall region, is a place where different nations emigrate to and due to that fact the teachers who work there have experience in working with international groups of students and they would like to share such experience with Polish partners.- within 2 years of implementing this project 24 teachers will gain knowledge of permanent education in Germany. Teachers take part in permanent education. Thanks to the partner who runs continuing training it will be possible to get to know procedures, rules, requirements and expectations in terms of continuing education in Germany and compare them with the Polish context. There will also be a process of mutual learning. The above specific objectives can be generalized in the following main objective: within 2 years of implementing this project 24 teachers of I SLO im. Unii Europejskiej in Zamość will gain knowledge and skills in working in multicultural society environment. I SLO im Unii Europejskiej plans to send 3 groups of 8 people as:- the groups will vary in profile: teachers of scientific subjects and humanities, PE teachers and counsellors (in order to specialize and adjust school curriculum to the needs of specific subject groups);- it is logistically optimal – teachers are divided into 2-person teams during job shadowing and they do not disrupt the teaching process;- when the classes finish there can be held group discussions – the group is not too big;- when teachers are back they can more easily share their knowledge with colleagues who teach the same subjects;- the project will involve 1/3 of all teachers which is optimal as far as the development plans for I SLO im. Unii Europejskiej in Zamość are concerned. Tangible project results: - within 2 years of project implementation 24 teachers will gain unique experience in intercultural education and communication;- within 2 years of project implementation 24 teachers will get practical knowledge concerning functioning of schools in multicultural society- I Społeczne Liceum Ogólnokształcące im Unii Europejskiej in Zamość will become a school of unique competence in intercultural education in the region;- 24 teachers will receive EUROPASS and Partner certificates;- 75 teachers will participate in disseminating seminars.
