The project proposes to offer the necessary backgroud to develop the human resource of our school in a European context, having as ultimate purpose a modern and attractive teaching-learning process for students. This project represents the analysis result of the educational act in our school, through which we noticed that teachers meet a rejection in what concerns the use of ICT means in our school. By implementing this project we want to improve the human resources from different curricular areas such as Primary School Teaching and Modern Languages, by using efficiently these resources in our school and thus developing the quality of the teaching-learning process. Objectives: - developing the human resources from curricular areas such as Primary School and Modern Languages by improving efficiently the educational process; - implemeting in the school curricula a new type of Optional Class based on ICT and CLIL methods; - acquirement and introduction of new technologies (ICT) as an integral part of these classes by developing students` learning motivation There were selected 8 teachers who are interested in using new teaching-learning technologies and methods, but they need a continuing professional development in using ICT in class, in creating project based experiences, content and language integrated learning and implementation of group work activities. The precourse activities consist in: - identifying needs, - selecting participants, - communicating with the course organisers, - checking out the materials offered by the course provider and preparing the materials asked by them (e.g. presenting the country and the institution). The course activities are structured in workshops which consist in practical activities that want to offer participants instruments through which they can acquire experience in using online tools which will improve the educational process and students` motivation for learning (e.g. animated slide shows, wiki pages, making online didactic materials). Follow-up activities - returning in our home country, we will keep in touch with the course provider and the participants from the other countries by using the online platform created in this purpose; - implementing the new learned methods in class Monitoring and evaluation of the activities will be done both by the school principal and the Department of Quality Assurance and also by the course provider. Used methods: The professional development activities will be interactive. There will be workshops, brainstorming sessions, analysis, problem solving. These workshops will practically help participants to create tools, such as weblogs, wikis and apply these tools in class. Expected outcomes: - 8 teachers with developed ICT skills; - 8 teachers with developed social and linguistic skills; - at least 5 eTwinning projects carried out in our school the next year, which will lead to build up the european dimension in our school; - Power Point presentation that will contain the project aims, the organization involved in the project, participants, the activities within the project, pictures during the project; - introduction of a new syllabus optional English Class based on the usage of ICT and CLIL methods; - introduction of modern technologies (using computers) directly in the learning process, having a pedagogical purpose: updating the teaching system by implementing some new tools in primary school and modern language teaching. Impact and long-term benefits: - implementing new teaching methods in the educational act; - using ICT methods in order to give an added value to the educational process; - enlarging our collaboration with other teachers from Europe and developing future partnerships; - developing students` motivation for learning; - introduction and application of PET (Preliminary English Test) for at least 10 students from intensive English learning classes.
