Educated in Poland-Experienced in Europe
Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Professional traineeships in properly chosen English companies and industrial plants had an effective input in vocational training at the Commerce Schools in Bydgoszcz via better youth preparation for gaining qualifications and a job and also motivating students to further study and skills improvement. The aims of the project were included in the school mission and vision determined in the School Development Plan the Bydgoszcz Education Development Strategy in the years 2013-2020. The nature of the project was an exchange of 3 groups of our students with counsellors, being trained as commerce technicians and advertising technicians, who took part in three-week vocational trainings combined with an English course in London. The students aged 16-20 came both from a big city (Bydgoszcz) and villages. In a group of 41 students, 11 students were disadvantaged, from societies endangered with unemployment and having binding PPP opinions and decisions. The criteria according to which the participants were chosen: the student attitude, the traineeships evaluation, linguistic competence. Finally 30 people from the advertising classes and 9 people from commerce classes were qualified to particioate in the programme. The project realization affected the level of various skills, both language and vocational, and the results of the project are mainly key competence improvement, which are stated in the attachment to the European Parliament and Council recommendations of 18th Dec, 2006. As for the long-term advantages, the participants had a unique possibility of adding new values to their CVs and, what follows, gaining more opportunities to be employed. Our school increased the attractiveness of the educational offer in the region and adjusted it to the needs of the Polish and European job market via comparison of the methods, ways and job tools compulsory in other European Union countries. The European additional value of the project is the possibility of transferring the experience from the traineeships abroad to the local economics and the possibility of offering the society an independent, resourceful and innovative graduate, who will participate actively in economical, social and cultural city and country development.
