The project « Écoo Tour 2016 : Bretagne – Basilicata » wants to give oportunity for a group of 18 participants (Italian and French) to discover a range of issues related to the theme of sustainable development in rural areas, as part of a European exchange.By going to the discovery of initiatives that address these issues, during two weeks of cycling trip (a week in Basilicata, a week in Brittany), participants can examine and work on these overarching issues of sustainable development.Since 2010, the association "Écoo : écologie, économie, coopération," works for the protection of the environment, and the promotion of social economy, sustainability and solidarity in Brittany.Through its actions and projects, Écoo allows people to appropriate the values of sustainable development, social economy, openness to the world citizenship and solidarity, by the discovery of original initiatives.Between 2010 and 2014, 4 bicycle tours during a month (called Écoo Tour), were organized, allowing a group of 8 to 10 young to go to the encounter of original initiatives for sustainable, social development and solidarity. In 2016, members of the association Écoo wish beyond their regional framework by organizing a European exchange project.Through the creation of a binational group (Italian / French), and two weeks for exchange and bike tour (one week in Basilicata, one week in Britain), it will be offered to participants to interogate themselfs of the theme of sustainable development in rural areas, but also to participate at a collective adventure to confront two cultures and two European visions.During this exchange, participants will work and study on the theme of sustainable development in rural areas, through participation in a range of activities:• Meetings activities and discovery of initiatives and territorial projects• Workshop activities and collective work• Records of production activities related to the project contentThe use of bicycles as a means of transport helps strengthen the collective dimension and the spirit of discovery of this adventure.For the realization of media content (short films, social networks and Internet), participants will communicate on their project during the two-week exchange (by meeting people in different places, by organizing two public time at the end of each exchange week).The expected impact of this project for the group of participants, but also for partner organizations is important.For the group of participants, the « Écoo Tour 2016 : Bretagne – Basilicata » project will develop personal and technical skills, better knowledge and understanding of sustainable development in rural areas, a better knowledge of their territories, enhanced critical thinking, a willingness to citizen engagement and a desire to undertake ...For partners structures, the project « Écoo Tour 2016 : Bretagne – Basilicata » will be an increase in competence in European exchanges, creating links between two peripheral regions of Europe ...
