Reason:The Chair will become the backbone of Economic Studies on European Integration at the University of Granada.The European Convention has established the need for a broader debate on the core issues of the economic future of Europe. This debate on the “deepening and widening” of the European Union will be promoted on different levels and with regard to various target groups. Output:The main output of the Chair derives from the promotion of an intense debate and a better understanding of the key issues on the future of the European Union. In detail, it is expected: - to encourage analysis on the key issues and to orient discussions with innovative and interdisciplinary seminars. -to involve citizens and crucial representatives from the civil society, as well as the media, by a number of conferences and public events. -to promote discussions and the understanding of the future of the European Union.The teaching activities will be based on complementary, convergent or overlapping research on the dealt topics, with innovative educational elements. The European integration issues take the form of joint seminars and lectures, stimulating approaches of teaching and learning, especially Simulation Games will be organized. The Chair also will organises public events such as discussions and public lectures with experts from all levels (communal, regional, national and European). Contacts of the University with other institutions related to European issues will develop connection between the academia, professionals, and the interested public, which will serve as the basis for a network of experts on the EU in Granada.Modern information technologies will be applied and a homepage will be developed in the framework of the project.Impact:The Chair will be offered to the civil society through the strategic collaboration with our partners in the project CEA and Extenda).
