Due to the social mixity which expands in Saint-Fargeau Ponthierry and to the fast development of communication tools in a global context evolving towards bringing people together, european peoples in particular, the Alphonse Fercot elementary school -including 220 pupils along with 11 teachers- aims to provide its pupils with an easy to use ICT, with a substantial English education and the knowledge of British culture, together with the awareness of belonging to common Europe.That is why the Fercot school wishes to get involved in a european dimension project.In this purpose, the school's goals are the above ones:1/To be more successful in teaching English in our classrooms, to acquire a more genuine speaking.2/To vary and boost the teaching modes through the use of ICT.3/To allow each school's classroom to promote a partnership with another european classroom around a joint online project.4/To develop the intercultural aspect and the european culture in the classroom.5/To reinforce interdisciplinary studies and uplift teaching practices.The 4 teachers that have been selected for the training, wish to lead the project, to relay the acquired skills to their coworkers and to establish the requisite ICT tools in the school.The proposed activities:1/Traditional English games, English Challenges.2/The writing of a digital school newspaper.3/Tales study and/or British/European culture study in English : the pupils will use Netvibes in order to search data on the Internet and Didapage to create digital tales.4/The realisation of a mutual project with the partner classroom.5/Direct -verbal and visual- communication activities between the partner classroom's pupils using "Skype In The Classroom".Methodology:First, the ICT tools will be set up in each classroom. Second, the established calendar will have to be observed. Each trained teacher will be in charge of a project's aspect (either related to ICT activities, or to the English language) in order to ensure its advance in each classroom. Monthly meetings will also be scheduled so that the emerging difficulties will be evaluated and fixed as work proceeds.Effects:-on the school: the project's spread will induce its diffusion in space and time in the school; the former school project will be apt to evolve; English teaching will be boosted and the school will gain a European stature. -on the pupils:* they will be able to acquire a scholarship distinguished by its cultural and linguistic european aspect, together with an open-mindedness.* They will be able to be autonomous using a digital platform as Twinspace, they will be sensitized to a code of conduct for a digital tools use.* The proposed activities will promote the pupils' blossoming into their study environment.* They will be able to witness an improvement of their evaluation results concerning A/ the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) and B/ the Internet and IT -Information Technology- certificate.-on the city's high school: the project will enhance the pupils' successful placement in the city's high school bilingual classroom.-on the european partners and pupils : similar to the effects on the school and pupils (cf. supra).Long-term benefits:-To launch a steady learning of the ICT tools' use and a steady communication with our european partners in the classrooms.-To provide a fulfilling study environment for the pupils.-To reinforce the european classroom.-To improve the pupils's CEFRL evaluation results.
