Ecole Europénne de l'Eau
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Dec 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project will take place at “The Aquascole” at St Pierre de Coutances. We propose an individual EVS as we have one place for a project with a duration of 12 months. The participants can have origin from any country as long as they are eligible to participate in the “Erasmus +” program. In the case of our project, the participating countries are Spain and France. We are going to host a young Spanish girl. This will be Natalia, who will have the possibility to participate at the organisation’s AVRIL activities which are about environmental education and sustainable development. This project will give Natalia the possibility to work together with the staff of the organisation by: − Helping at the organisation and the realisation of various European projects such as youth exchanges, formations for young European adults under the program Erasmus +, Interreg, etc. − Helping in the construction of educational tools (from the concept to use it at workshops) − Participating in various workshops alongside other young people, mostly job-seekers on the basis of a reinsertion project. − Building relations with high schools and senior high schools in Coutances (and in the surroundings) in order to promote the EVS. − Participating at ‘Europe’s Club’ at Jeun-Paul II High School/Senior High School at Coutances. − Helping in improving the communication practices of our organisation. − Helping with administration work. − Participating at the library’s management. − Helping at the realisation of events such as “Water Festival”, “Festival of water classes”, “Festival of the bocage” etc. − Working with our European project partners. − Promoting the EVS amongst the local youth population. − Promoting her country of origin, Spain. − Meeting and working together with our local partners. Our objectives: − Promote European citizenship and the awareness of the need for a sustainable development. − Involve a young Spanish girl in our environmental education activities so that when she returns to her country she can share the knowledge and values she has acquired, particularly around the subject of water. − Discuss with the local population about life in her country of origin, Spain, by sharing her experiences with them. − Familiarise young locals with the subject of international mobility. − Make the volunteer active and give her the chance to acquire new competences in order to facilitate her access to employment after the end of her project. All along of the project the methods of non-formal education will be used.
