The youth project "Eco-volunteer" will be held 19-31 October 2016 in Tallinn, Estonia. The project will bring together representatives from 5 countries: Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania and Czech Republic.Young people will meet to learn about opportunities that exist for eco-volunteers, share their experiences, feel the importance of volunteer work, realize the need to contribute for a better future of the planet, Europe and country particularly. In addition to this, participants will become familiar with the work of the largest and successful volunteer organizations in Europe and the world, learn to plan their volunteer work, hold several environmental volunteer activities, prepare a real volunteer action in their own cities.During Youth Exchange young volunteers will learn about different aspects of eco-volunteering, discuss the significance of this work, analyze the work of other organizations. The most important topics:1. Objectives, goals of eco-volunteering activities, eco-volunteer movement;2. Importance of the international eco-volunteer projects;3. Meetings and online conferences with experienced eco-volunteers of the largest international organizations and peer volunteers in order to get invaluable experience;4. Skills and personal qualities that necessary for eco-volunteer;5. Opportunities of long-term volunteering.One of the main intended outcomes of the Youth Exchange will be creating materials for dissemination: gathering information and making handouts, video-clips, presentation of the most memorable moments of the project. Prepared for dissemination printed booklets on environmental volunteering and other publications will help participants to carry out the idea of eco-volunteering in their countries. Self-made film will not only help to develop the ideas of volunteering among young people, but also unite the creators, strengthen their belief in themselves.Young people will take part in several practical volunteer activities: gardening, cleaning debris in local communities and coastal areas, help for local nature reserves. During these activities youth get acquainted with the environmental problems of the host city as well as various environmental agencies, understands the importance of volunteer work. The experience and knowledge gained from activities will help youngsters to work harder and better, spread the ideas of eco-volunteering in their cities among peers.Informal events (meetings in the format "without ties", team-building games, role-playing games, creating publications) provide active involvement in the project of each participant. All project activities and methods are aimed at developing communication skills, understanding representatives of other countries and cultures. The project provides participants with the opportunity to learn their hidden potentials, relax, demonstrate their leadership skills and at the same time - the ability to work in a team.
