ECO-SME+ e-LEARNING TOOL ADDRESSED TO SMES ABOUT EMAS

ECO-SME+ project aims to strengthen the role of education and training within the Lisbon process not only to promote competitiveness but also sustainable economic growth and social cohesion. Why? Because the proposed activities deal with three basic themes and stakeholders to achieve that goal: environmental management systems, e-learning and SMEs. The Project is based on the necessity of improving the low levels of participation in adult learning as well as reinforcing sustainable development. “ECO-SME+” wants to eliminate as many barriers as possible in order to increase number of SMEs that implement tools to support individuals undertaking self-directed learning. Main working areas to develop from October 2008 to September 2010: 1) GENERAL MANAGEMENT: the technical and economic management is based on an Intranet, meetings and different committees: one of quality, a Technical Secretariat and a Steering Committee. 2) VALORIZATION PLAN: the strategy is based on the own idiosyncrasy of the partnership, composed by organizations with a great capacity for disseminating and make use of the results. Actions: 2.1)Transnational seminars: these intend to release the outcomes besides of serving as platform to exchange good practices. 2.2) General brochure about the Project: it will be sent to the entities more relevant in this field enhancing them to act as multiplier agents (SMEs, employers and environmental associations, Public Administration). It will be used as a tool for the dissemination, and particularly for attracting the major number of beneficiaries of the e-learning tool.2.3) Design and maintenance of the Virtual Platform: this will be the base for the activities of dissemination. The website shows the results of the project and hosts the so-called e-leaning tool “ECO-SME+” as well as the informative bulletin. 3) ANALASIS OF THE PILOT PROJECTS TO TRANSFER AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE E-LEARNING TOOL addressed to SMEs. This e-learning tool will be available in the Virtual Platform developed within the framework of the project. The contents will be available in English and in the other languages of the partnership in order to contribute to globalization of SMEs, emphasizing in e-Learning and “English” as the most common working language in Europe. Within the whole length of the project, but above all during this stage, the promoter of the project “Savigma” (Environmental Management Self-training systems by Internet/Intranet)and the representative of the project "ETIV" will transfer their experience and the acquired best practices during the development of those pilot projects. 4) PILOT EXPERIENCE: The tool will be tested in 100 SMEs minimum. The impact of the project will be to increase the number of the European SMEs which are trained in environmental management systems by the use of multimedia tools.
