“Eco leaders – leading to greener tomorrow”

“Eco leaders-leading to greener tomorrow” is a four months long project with a training course as its main activity. Eight-day training course is designed for young activist/leaders aged 22-30 years from Serbia, Portugal, Bulgaria and Macedonia, and aims to empower youth activists who deal with the theme of ecology to become the environmental leaders in their organizations and communities. Four representatives of organizations from each country will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the following topics:- Communication skills- Organizational skills- Self awareness- Environmental awareness, environmental problems- Lobbying and advocating- Youth in action programme- Writing Project proposals in the frame work of YIAImplemented activities: preparation,implementation,evaluation,writing report rand follow up.Objectives of the project:- to raise awareness about ecological issues- to strengthen participants in becoming youth leaders in the field of ecology- to develop communication, organizational, lobbying and advocating skills in order to improve participants’ ability to deal with ecological issues and lead a group of young people- to encourage creativity and initiative among eco leaders in dealing with ecological issues- to facilitate learning about Youth in action programme- to establish new international partnerships and elaborate applications of joint youth projectsThere will be used non formal methods of learning: workshops, brainstorming,facilitated discussions,problem-posing, individual and group work,evaluation questionnaire and learning points,ecological activities,exchange of knowledge and experience.It will be provided safe environment for all participants where they will be able to freely express their opinion and feelings. The training will be held at the Hotel Termal in Vrdnik near Novi Sad in the period from 18th till 26th of November 2011, as Vojvodjanska zelena inicijativa as host organization.
