The youth departement of Nort-sur-Erdre plans a cultural exchange between Nort-sur-Erdre (France) and Piedrabuena (Spain). The Nort-sur-Erdre ‘s youth are going to stay of 12 days in Spain (8 of them in Piedrabuena) They will be accompanied by two professional and one volunteer. They will be received by the people of Piedrabuena and they will participate activities with local youth. The project has been madein collaboration with the Committee Jumela. This association will celebrate 10 years of twinning between the two cities in 2015. The exchanges between the people of both cities are regular. In fact, there was already 3 meetings with the youth service of the town and one time with the school. The projetct's goal : -Strengthen cultural exchanges between the twinned towns and maintain friendships between people, especially younger -Foster the departure abroad with the discovery of new horizons for young people who do not necessarily have the opportunity in their home environment. -make Youth of both cities aware of environmental problems through the subject of water. activities.......... The project will be built up with the participants through regular meetings. A portion will be built with the Spanish group through email exchanges and phone call. The goal is that young acquire know-how during this preparation phase like : organizing activities, followed by a budget, itinerary ... This step will also allow them to give further meaning to their journey through the research they carried out over the region: knowledge of heritage and local culture. In the long term this project contributes to the mobility and the development of cross-cultural relationships at a young age especially among young from disadvantaged environment. It allows them to acquire skills and develop attitudes necessary for their formation of a European citizen. It also provides an opportunity to improve the attractiveness of the twinning committee which could give it the means to expand its action.
