EBRU: An Opening Gate to Tradition and Intercultural Learning

The Project has two broad aims: a) encouraging young people to be more interested in traditional arts that are under the threat of being forgotten in contemporary world, b) contributing to the widening of intercultural learning among young people all over Europe. The project integrates these two aims in the form of using traditional arts as a tool for intercultural learning. As a starting point, the project intends to teach Ebru (marbling paper) to the participants from 4 countries and to do workshops and demonstrations about various aspects of the relationship between traditional arts and culture. The project will take place in Balikesir in 23-29 August, 2006 and it will use methods of experiential learning.
