eBooks on Demand - A European Library Network (EOD)
Start date: May 1, 2009,

To provide access to historical books either for professional or personal purpose"here and now", the eBooks-on-Demand (EOD) network aims that every book which has been published in Europe between 1500 and 1900 shall be available in digital format: on request of a user, for a moderate fee, and within few days. The project has 3 objectives: to enlarge the EOD network with new European members; to take EAD as a best practice model for a European wide cooperation, to train stakeholders (libraries, museums, or other cultural operators) to run such a multinational cultural service based on state-of-the-art information technologies; to support intercultural dialogue among readers and users of historical books.EOD Workshops and EOD Open Days will be organised and a new Web2.0 service (visible on Wikipedia, Youtube, Flickr, MySpace) will be developed to pro-actively supply Web2.0 platforms with their contents.
