The „East-West. On youth participation” project is a 9-month EVS project for two volunteers from Estonia and Moldova interested in active citizenship, youth participation, nonformal education and fighting social exclusion. The project is aimed at deepening the social inclusion of young people, particularly the ones with smaller chances, such as the representatives of ethnic minorities and the population of towns situated in conflict zones. The project also focuses on increasing the social participation of young people, especially in the frame of the democratic and civil life of Europe. As a result the volunteers will develop significant competences in the sphere of active participation within the civil society, inspiring and supporting young people, as well as promoting their own initiatives. Additionally, they will encourage local young people to carry out similar initiatives in the frame of mobility projects. In the long-term perspective the project will contribute to increase the active citizenship of young people of the Dubosary Region (Moldova) and among the members of the Russian ethnic minority of Estonia.
