e-WOW: e-Work Opportunity for Women

The e-WOW project aims to enhance the professional skills and thus increase the employability of unemployed women through an introduction to the job opportunities offered by modern telecommunication methods (e-work) and through further preparation of this target group to take up such employment.Whilst the identified target group is all unemployed women, an additional focus will be that of including women who face or who have faced difficulty in entering or returning to the labour market (i.e. women returners, women with dependants).Following an initial analysis of both the target group and the target sector, the project will work to develop training methodology and training content to prepare the target group to both seek and enter this type of employment (e-work).Training content will be developed in PL, EN, SK & EL and will be available in paper-based and electronic (CD-Rom and internet) media. Training materials will then undergo testing in each of the partner countries.A further database will be created by the project, to be hosted via a dedicated, multilingual project website, which will host both e-work job seekers and e-employment offers.A series of final conferences will be hosted by the project, in each of the 4 partner countries, whereupon the end project results will be presented to representatives from the target group / target sector, to local authority representatives and to the relevant media.
