Start date: Sep 19, 2016, End date: Sep 18, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

CONTEXT:The Carmen Hernandez Guarch School is a member of the MECD-British Council bilingual program. We develop several projects such as: 1) "Methodological Innovation through iPads; 2) "Emotional Education and Cooperative Learning"; 3) "MECD-British Council Project".Number and profile of PARTICIPANTS:- 6 teachers will be going within the framework of the project (4 for job shadowing at the Holy Trinity School in Guilford, England; and 2 teachers will be going to the "ICT FOR TEACHING" course in Leeds. - For the job shadowing practice at Holy Trinity School in Guildford: 4 teachers will be going in two different times. The two coordinators of the KA1 project (the ICT coordinator and the British Council-MECD project coordinator) will monitor the whole stay and the implementation of the ICT tools learnt during the school observation. The ICT coordinator will be in charge of teaching once she is back in our school and she will also be in charge of making sure the knowledge learned and the experiences acquired at the center, are taught and implemented in different ways. The ICT Plan in our school will provide our staff with different training sessions to make sure that the knowledge reaches the rest of our teaching staff. The bilingualism coordinator will implement the tools learned in the areas of Literacy, Social Science and Natural Science. The teacher that represents the nursery-reception team , will make sure she / he implements in his / her area the tools learned. Finally, the teacher that represents the 5th and 6th grade (Key Stage 2 and 3), would be responsible for implementing the iPads project in the school the next academic year 2016-2017 in these groups. For the course in Leeds "ICT FOR TEACHING" two teachers will be trained in ICT tools and will later apply the knowledge gained to create ICT resources in the teaching-learning process.Description of ACTIVITIES:VISIT 1: "Job shadowing" at the Holy Trinity School, Guilford (United Kingdom) Three teachers of our center would carry on an observation of good practices in this British school.MOBILITY TRAINING course "ICT FOR TEACHING: A practical course to Incorporate Information and Technology into Teaching (literacy, numeracy, science, etc.)."The objective of this course is to develop a good digital competence in two teachers from our school.VISIT 2: "Job shadowing" at the Holy Trinity School, Guilford (United Kingdom)On this second visit to our partner center, two teachers from our school will carry on another "job shadowing" to verify whether the experiences from the previous year as well as the planned activities are being carried out successfully and to observe good practices in this center. MAIN GOAL:The main objective would be to improve our teaching practice focusing on two issues:1. The use of ICT in the teaching-learning process, including iPads or similar devices.2. Cooperative Learning.Guilford School has iPads as an everyday tool in the classroom. Thanks to this advanced device, students access at all times to lots of educational contents, they can search different resources on the Internet, using tools that enhance their knowledge and creativity. The access to these tools allows students to prepare class assignments, analyze and solve problems more easily, being in charge of their own learning process. The use of these devices offers and individualization of the teaching-learning process.METHODOLOGY used to carry out the project:We believe that we must look at other educational experiences for a later implementation in our own school. This will allow us:- to promote the development of digital competence, with particular emphasis on the competence of learning to learn.- to observe how different European centers work with cooperative methodology and how do they integrate ICT tools in a cooperative way in order to take into account the diversity found in our classrooms.- to implement inclusive dynamics through ICT .RESULTS, IMPACT and long-term benefits:The education and the observation that members of our staff will receive thanks to this project will allow us to continue implementing cooperative learning and teaching with iPads in our center. We will be able to carry out the implementation of innovative methodologies that will integrate personalized learning, and a better attention to our students.Using these tools through an interdisciplinary approach and the use and creation of digital learning resources, will develop the linguistic competence in communication, social sciences, mathematics, etc. of our pupils. The relationship that may come along as a result of this project would also enable future projects and activities. Finally, our students would be the maximum beneficiaries of this program as last innovation methodology receivers.
