e-MARINE – New forms, internet based and products for vocational and educational training (VET), Lifelong learning (LL), and competencies assessment for the marine and port field

The e-MARINE project aims at developing e-learning in order to enhance continuous training for crews on board of ships and port workers. By this way the project will also respond to the vocational needs of the maritime field and give young people and unemployed the possibilities to enter in maritime labour market. In order to reach its main aim the project will create Internet conditions and products usable and accessible for people involved in maritime fields. Specific results of the project will be an Internet based VET Virtual Centre for the marine and port fields; virtual guides, interactive courses. By the application of training techniques and training procedures such as simulators, case studies, intensive use of the successful experiences of work in real conditions, the project will also assure the improvement of the quality of VET in maritime field. In the countries involved within the project the pilot course results will be disseminated by press; other activities foreseen to reach target group are represented by seminars; internet web site and final conference. Target groups are represented by people working in maritime sector as crews on board of ships and port workers; secondarily target groups of the project will be young people and unemployed interested in entering maritime labour market.
