The main product of the applied project is the development of a specific training course for e-learning coaches and ICT-trainers which will qualify the participants to educate blind and visually impaired persons by e-learning. This new comprehensive course is planned as “add-on” to regular courses about educating e-learning trainers and will be specifically designed for visually handicapped ICT trainers as well. The course will be developed to be carried out via “blended learning”. Its curriculum and all the developed learning and teaching material will include the special educational and technical aspects and requirements of e-learning for visually impaired people. To testify a successful participation, a final online-examination via Virtual Conference System will be developed.The learning media mentioned above will be designed as WBT/CBT compatible with AICC and SCORM and digital print material and distributed as “open source” under GPL licence. A pilot course for “Pilot e-learning coaches for Visually impaired persons” and a final examination will be realized within the last four month of the project. The evaluation results of this pilot course will be used to improve and optimize the products.An additional initiative of this project is to found a virtual platform for a European network of e-learning coaches for visually impaired people. The purpose of this network is to share experiences and knowledge concerning the subject and support of new e-learning trainers in this field. For this network, a web portal with moderated BBS/Forum and a download-server for filesharing of CBT/WBT and other learning media for visual impaired people will be established.
