REFERENCE: 553719-EPP-1-2014-1-FR-EPPKA1-JMD-MOB_DYCLAMTITLE: Dynamics of cultural landscapes and heritage management, DYCLAMObjectiveThe Master on Dynamics of cultural landscapes and heritage management (DYCLAM) aims to train future managers of territorial and human development through the cultural landscape and managers of labelled site able to understand the complexity of cultural landscapes (PCs).Course durationTwo years (120 ECTS credits).Brief descriptionDYCLAM offers a mobility training between the University Jean Monnet Saint- Etienne (UJM, France), the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT, Portugal), the National Museum of Natural History in Paris (MNHN) and either the University Federico II of Naples (UNINA, Italy) or the University of Stuttgart (UStuttgart, Germany). 4 international academic institutions (Universities of Tetouan in Morocco, Dakar, Senegal, Santa Catarina in Brazil, Laval, Quebec) and 5 actors of territorial development and heritage protection (IUCN, Blue Shield , CUECB Institute Terra e Memoria and the city of Firminy) are associated partners. The training is open to 22 students holding a bachelor's degree or equivalent (180 ECTS) in Planning, Urbanism, Humanities, Natural sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Design and Art.After a 1st semester at UJM (Common Culture Around the Heritage and PCs ), a 2nd semester at IPT (Integrated Management and Sustainable Development through Cultural Landscape, Reduction of Vulnerability Regarding Disasters) and a 3rd semester at the MNHN (Relation Societies, Nature & Societies and Protected Areas), students will have the choice to study at UNINA –for two months on fieldworks of management and governance of PCs followed by a four-month internship in the country of a DYCLAM partner– or at UStuttgart –for two months on the progressive anthropology of space followed by a research for four months–.DYCLAM emphasizes the learning of complex, global and integrated management, conservation and sustainable exploitation of heritage systems and sites (tangible and intangible heritage), protected areas and PCs. The training meets the needs identified by Unesco, international agencies and local communities. Through its scientific and technical content, the fieldwork, its innovative methodology (collaborative project, openness to civil society and entrepreneurial), its multidisciplinary spirit and multiculturalism, DYCLAM aims to educate adaptable and operational practitioners.Career prospectsCareer opportunities are numerous: management, project development applied to territories, sites and monumental structures, protected natural areas, engineering of intangible heritage, preventive conservation, cultural economy, education and research.An international experienceDYCLAM students receive training in French and English and languages lessons in Portuguese, Italian, and German. Apart from the international mobility path between the several European universities, DYCLAM collaborates with 4 international academic institutions and 5 associated actors of territorial development and heritage protection (IUCN, Blue Shield, CUECB Institute Terra e Memoria and the city of Firminy) which allow DYCLAM students to carry out an international internship or research experience during their fourth semester.DiplomaAt the end of the curriculum, successful students will receive a joint degree DYCLAM issued by the coordinating institution University Jean Monnet on behalf of all the partners along with the master's degree diplomas awarded by the University Jean Monnet at Saint-Etienne, the National Museum of Natural History in Paris and the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar. Depending on the students' choice of mobility for the 4th semester, one degree issued by the University Federico II of Naples or the University of Stuttgart will also be awarded.Websitehttp://www.dyclam.eu/fr/
