Start date: Dec 16, 2014, End date: Dec 15, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Society for Rural Development of the Region between Snežnik and Nanos has been recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment as Local Action Group and is funded by LEADER. The purpose of the Society is development of the local area taking into account the principles of LEADER and the exploitation of local resources. One of the basic principles of LEADER is a bottom-up approach, which means that only people who live in a certain area can identify the needs of this area and search for sustainable solutions. However, it is crucial that these people have the necessary skills and one of our key tasks is to strengthen human resources of the area. As it is written in the European Deployment Plan our priorities are as follows: - Improved competencies and increased quality of non-formal education performed by our society. We would like to encourage the use of new teaching methods and tools, such as " learning by doing " classroom in nature etc.; - To establish new partnerships with the EU organizations and to improve the leadership skills of managerial staff of the Society; - To qualify staff for adult education so that they will be able to improve the level of entrepreneurship of the adult learners, their sense of self motivation and their readiness for networking, cooperation. The participants of the mobility are divided into two groups according to their experiences and needs: - To providers of adult education, seeking knowledge for upgrading and replacement of the classic presentations, lectures, when participants sit and listen. Those methods are for people in rural areas (like farmers for example) neither interesting nor effective. They learn much more, are more engaged and gain more self confidence if they learn by doing, or if the whole learning process takes place outside in the nature. Our lecturers lack knowledge about what tools, methods could be used in order to transfer their knowledge to participants in a more innovative, interesting way. Another area where had the lecturers also proved to be weaker is a way to promote core competencies (innovation, self-initiative, entrepreneurship) among adult learners. - To the management staff of our adult education organization, which requires specific knowledge about the design of projects that promote human resource development, how to find systemic solutions at the level of organization in this field, how to strengthening the sense of European citizenship and networking with organizations in the EU and beyond 12 selected participants of the mobility will go on 1-week training in the United Kingdom (October 2014 4 participants), the Czech Republic (September 2014 4 participants) and Iceland (May 2015 4 participants). Our partner organization abroad will prepare a training that will suit their needs. Dissemination activities will be tailored-made for the different groups and will be implemented during the life time of the project and even after the completion of the project.
