The project "Dual vocational education in the post-industrial reality" is addressed to the students and the staff of the five schools and the professional training institutions from Zabrze and afterward they have set up the consortium. The foreign partner of this consortium is an association of Saint-Etienne in France that is the similar city which has the similar history and post-industrial tradition like our Zabrze. The main goal of this project is the development and efficient use of the knowledge and skills in the context of dual education, which will allow the changes in the organization of vocational education by members of the consortium as well using the professional experiences by participants in their future work. The acquired skills will be confirmed by the Certificates and Europasses. The detailed project objectives include: 1. To achieve the knowledge and skills in the extent and implementation of the dual vocational education in the post-industrial reality by the employees engaged in the process of the vocational education. 2. To gain by students the skills to increase their chances of employment onto the polish and European labour markets. 3. The personal development of the project participants including increase the knowledge of two foreign languages (english and french). 4. To increase the sense of European identity and integrity of the project participants through the contact with other cultures. The 40 students who learn in the following professions like IT technician, construction technician, tourist service technician, equipment and renewable energy systems technician, will take part in the professional apprenticeships. Students will practice in the French professional working environment where they will learn and master the practical skills required in theirs professions and that will allow them to become the better professionals in their field. They will gain the first experiences in the new professional and social conditions.The transition from the school bench to the work place and impact with the another culture and language, it will focus their attention on improving theirs key skills and at the same time will open them to the French and Euroepan culture but there will maintain the regional and cultural identity. The 30 employees will attend the job shadowing of the dual system all of them directly connected with the vocational education, including teachers of different industries, guidance counselors and those organizing the practical training. They will observe in the French vocational training institutions the dual training organization, the principles of cooperation on line school - company and use of the business resources for implementation of training in the individuals professions. By participating in the project the employees will improve their professional skills and will increase the education quality and efficiency in their facilities. The communication in English and French there will increase the language skills of participants and the contacts with the French culture strengthen their sense of European community. The examples of good practice in the field of the dual education in a post-industrial city it will initiate the innovative solutions for closer cooperation between the professional training institutions and the individuals which realize the practical education with a wide including the local and regional companies. The management of the project will be proceed in accordance with the Quality Policy ISO 9001:2008 of CKPiU (The Practical and Lifelong Learning Centre) and the guidelines of the Erasmus Programme +. Then conclusions of job shadowing and apprenticeship will allow for the development of the materials for the promotion of dual education. This project will have an influence on further cooperation between the partners, will develop contacts with the local labour market which may have an impact in the future on the organization of vocational education in the region and the country.
