DSRE - Developing Skills in the Valuation of Real Estate

The DSRE project aims to improve professional standards in the field of valuation, through the development of curriculum and qualification standards, in order to provide a transnationally recognised certificate of competence in valuation and surveying. The project will produce a series of training modules in EN and then further in all partner languages, covering the examination curriculum (national & European property markets and valuation methods, basic technical knowledge, operation of land registry, economics and business management, mathematics and statistics) and professional ethics (discretion/confidence, objectivity, impartiality/independence, technical competence). These modules will, in turn, lead to a two-stage examination comprising written and oral testing. The end results will be submitted for accreditation, as a minimum in the UK.Results of the current project will be made available on-line, with modules being available for download from the project website. The end training programme will focus on present and future needs of the profession and will be designed is such a way that they are able to be adapted, transferred and collectively applied as a standard model for a transnational training framework beyond the lifetime of the project, as such the end result is planned for commercialisation, with membership fees planned to finance ongoing development work.
