"Drowned Stories " is an EVS project , managed by the Youth Centre Trbovlje in partnership with the Russian organization SFERA with the mission to raise awareness and promote tolerance and understanding toward refugees who are entering Europe these days . The project is answering on this social challenge through intensive youth work and use of creative approaches that are close to young people (theater , photography , multimedia ... )At the forefront of the project is EVS volunteers who is gaining new knowledge, experiences, and skills through implementation of project activities. The project involves young people from the local community who are creating theather exhibition, foto exhibiton, publishing book, round table, several workshops and public performances together with EVS volutner to streghten intercultural understanding and tolerance toward refugees among media, public and local decision makers.The project will focus on three main topics:- "immigrants and refugees" as a growing challenge in European Union How to answer this challenge from the perspective of youth work and make positive solution with different initiatives in a local environment.- "creative approaches (street theater, photo, film)" as a tool, closer to young people, to pass, share and present topics selected within the application- "global learning" as a new dimension of youth work, where initiatives done in a local community can make footprint in a broader area and vice versa - how to "translate" global trends in a local youth initiative Coordinators of the project and mentors involved in it are experienced in the field of EVS volunteer exchanges. Recruited EVS volunteer for this project has a diverse experience of working with the tool of art for the community as a trainer, project organizer, and researcher. She has experiences of working on the regional, national, and international levels mostly with the topic of HIV infection, sexual and reproductive health and rights, disability, and social inequalities, as well as fine theoretical knowledge in the field of migration. EVS volunteer will get the chance to lead the group of young people through the transition/transformation project. This will help the participant to increase the knowledge of the issue of migration particularly in Slovenia and in EU as a whole. The participant will get the chance to gain such skills as: community mobilization, leadership, Logistics, and organization. Participant will also get the chance to participate in generation of a new knowledge on the way art approach can be used in the local community of Slovenia and disseminate the knowledge by creating education materials. The project will be focused on the objectives:-To prepare street theater on the topics of immigrants with the young people.-To prepare 1 photo exhibition on the topics of immigrants.-To organize 1 round table on the question "How to understand the issue of migration in the Slovenian community".-To organize 2 meetings with migrants and young people. -To prepare and print 1 book (100 copies) which will include personal stories of migrant population. - To include 60 young people from Trbovlje and 10 from sedning organization - Russian language and culture courseThe project is expected to have a high visibility in the Slovenian community, and it will be shared through such tools as:-Street theater performances on topic of immigrations performed in at least 2 youth centers-Book covering personal stories and experience of immigrants (100 copies)-Media articles (20 articles in national medias)-Professional paper published in Mlad.si about efficiency of creative approaches in youth work-Covering project through MCT Facebook account, Instagram account, tumblr and mailchimp plus website and our online news firbc.siEVS volunteer will get an opportunity to reflect on her knowledge and acquired experiences through:-In depth interview that will be held with her prior to the project and after the project. -Blog articles where volunteer will be reflecting on her being an EVS volunteer, living in a foreign community, and working with the young people in a foreign country. Besides all of that participant will be giving a video interview to the web page of MCT to reflect on the flow of the project.
