Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

DRESS TO IMPRESS: A FASHION KISS FOR PEACE! With our project title “Dress to impress: A fashion kiss for peace!” we want to express our intention to lead the students` awareness to a peaceful communication by creating and wearing fashion to set positive statements. “Je suis Charlie” is one of our flashpoints. The serious development of the actual political situation in the world asks for peaceful re-actions and visions to find ideas created by students – the youth of Europe – for a way how to show their open minded community and tolerant coexistence. Fashion has a motivating character for young people to express their personal identity and find their own style. Additional they send a message and set a statement for peace by wearing their clothes created by themselves. This project has to be carried out in Europe because the students exchange, discuss and reflect their ideas about religion, politics, tolerance in an intercultural dialogue and realise their visions in a positive way by setting statements of peace in their European fashion style designed by themselves in international teams (with partner schools from Poland/Elblag, Turkey/Gemlik, Germany/Beerfelden) during Erasmus + meetings in every country, fashion blogs, fashion weeks/shows and digital communication. By dissemination events, in Germany Theatre-Music-Art festival and at public places the students show different fashion lines (corporate identity, recycling aspects) with logos and slogans (poems, proverbs, innovative appeal) to send a “fashion kiss”, that means fashion created with love representing their peaceful intention. Hereby they develop a sense for entrepreneurship. For their collection from top to toe the students create a concept with promotion to distribute their ideas and fashion styles. This collection will be published by the students’ representatives of every partner school contacting out-of-school organisations and enterprises to initiate an international dialouge to reach a multiplier effect of their vision of peace – including a special support for disadvantaged people (students from difficult social background; invitation of refugees). In the subjects design, craft work, religion, philosophy, history, National language, English, politics and art classes we activate and elaborate the students’ background knowledge about fair trade, business, fashion material, design, production, conditions of production, peace literature, linguistic competences and political situation in the world with analysis, interviews, digital and personal research, visits, lectures, interactive actions and happenings.
