Secondary School of Economics "Dr. Ivan Bogorov" has successfully completed PROJECT 2014-1-BG01-KA102-000829 "Veni! Vidi! Vici! - A Chance and a Challenge for Life", Programme Erasmus +. The main objective of the project is upgrading the quality of professional education and training through creating a bridge between the two schools - from Bulgaria and Italy, and entrepreneurs who would accept visits from both countries and sharе their knowledge and experience. Specific objectives: -upgrading and improvement of students’ professional preparation -improving professional language vocabulary -motivating and developing the students' desire to learn English or another foreign language -increasing the students’ aptitude to the labour market -enriching the cultural knowledge of students about a European country -adding to the students’ understanding of social, European and cultural diversity -adding to the formation of students’ European citizenship self-consciousness The project involved 26 students and 4 accompanying teachers /the project was planned for 16 students and 2 teachers /. Participants are students of 10th and 11th grade of specialties: Banking, Insurance and Social Insurance, Business Administration, Accounting, E- Commerce, Wholesale and retail. The host organisation was Istituto di Istruzione Secondaria Superiore “Carlo Urbani”, Porto Sant'Elpidio, Italy – a vocational high school with experience in working on projects,with developed good contacts with the local businesses and the Chamber of commerce. Activities related to the implementation of the project: 1. Selection of students and their inclusion in the target group- based on papers and through an interview in English 2. Realisation of preliminary training (language, cultural and pedagogical) 3. Accomplished mobilities of 26 students and 4 teachers in total: - In the period 13.04.2015 - 26.04.2015 - 11 students and 2 accompanying teachers - In the period 03.04.2016 - 16.04.2016 - 15 students and 2 accompanying teachers The following activities took place during the mobilities: -Joint training sessions on: Economic geography, IT laboratory, Statistics and IT, Business Economics, European economic policy, Geotourism - Marche Region; -Participation in conferences; -Visits and introduction of the business of 11 Italian companies dealing with various activities -Visit to the Chamber of Commerce in the district town of Fermo -Introduce a business project in the scope of rural tourism - Ethnographic Complex "Oreshak" -Participation in a simulation for the establishment of a joint company between the Bulgarian and Italian students; -Visits to archaeological and historical sites and natural park in Marche region, Italy; 26 students have received a Europass Mobility certificate. Report meetings from the first and second mobility. The following were created: -Facebook page of the project and two web sites -A business project “Ethnographic complex Oreshak” -Publications and interviews in Varna and Italian media - A project roll-banner and an outdoor project board - A photo exhibition / "Eurowall" / in the high school - Publications in the school newspaper, in the book - 25 years "Dr. Ivan Bogorov" and in the school website - Flyers and brochures and a book on the project Improved competences and skills: Professional - on Business Economics, Economic Geography, Company Organisation and Management, Entrepreneurship, Tourism Language skills – confidence in communicating in English; knowledge of business English. Two students and one of the teachers practised their Italian. Social skill – improvement of communication skills, working in a team, making reasonable decisions in dynamically changing situations. Participants plan better and organize tasks, gain confidence and self-esteem. Intercultural - knowledge of the history and lifestyle of the host country, sharing knowledge of Bulgarian historical and cultural heritage. By performance of folk songs and dances, we popularised Bulgarian folklore and made the celebrations more emotional and colourful. Long-term benefits from the project: -Formation of students' awareness of European citizenship; -Increasing the students’ aptitude to the labour market; -Enhancing the attractiveness of our schoo and of lvocational education in Bulgaria and Europe; -Improving the understanding of social, European and cultural diversity; -Attracting more young people to participate in programmes and projects which open up new opportunities and horizons for young people in Bulgaria; -We disseminated the opportunities and advantages of Erasmus + programme. We have proved that both Bulgaria and Italy have educational systems which provide excellent preparation at European level and ability for a complete realisation. The project is a brand for high-quality successful mutual work and collaboration. The Vocational schools from both European countries remain open for future contacts and joint projects.
