DOTANDO DE DIMENSIÓN EUROPEA AL ALUMNADO Y PROFESORADO DEL DANIEL CASTELAO
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project stems from a previous collaboration between the sending and host partner: a Leonardo Partnership. In this partnership, we detected two strong points ITIS Matei center has: a home automation lab of the highest level and a fruitful relationship of the school with numerous companies in the area . This relationship allows to increase the employability of students, since the center fits in as far as possible the training curriculum to the needs detected in these companies. In addition, as businesses work closely with the institute to provide them with resources and equipment of last generation to know that students use when they enter the labor market. Five students from secondary school from Technician in Electrotrocnics and Automation Facilities have made a 14-day mobility to the ITIS in order to attend a workshop in home automation. With this activity, we aim to improve the employability of this group , increasing their technical , linguistic and personal skills. In order to organize these practices, Home Automation teachers of our center and the host institution, have been working closely to develop a program of workshops to be followed in the ITIS that would fit perfectly with the theoretical previous Knowledge taught at the sending institution before the mobility. To this end, exchange of emails and Skype conferences and Hangouts have been constant. Once there, students have participated in an extensive program, which in addition to attending workshops of Home Automation in mixed teams with Italian students, participated in Italian Culture classes, visited companies and made cultural day trips to Rome and Florence. Moreover, a teacher has done a mobility to deep (through job shadowing ) in the fact that the ITIS has got an extensive network and solid business practices where their students do the on-the-job-trainning module. The percentage of students who stay to work in companies after the internships is very high. Besides, these companies collaborate with the school giving it material and actively participating in the development of curriculum and training methodology according to the needs of the environment. The observation of this close collaboration of our faculty, can help us to implement the Dual Vocational Education Training in the near future in a satisfactory manner.
