The objectives of ‘The importance of experience’ project are consistent with the objectives of Erasmus+, namely: - supporting students in gathering competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) in order to broaden their possibilities of personal development and increasing the opportunities of employment on the European labour market and outside its boundaries, - increasing the knowledge of English language among students, - increasing the level of knowledge and acquaintance with cultures of other countries among project participants, activating their participation in social and professional life, - increasing the attractiveness of youth education, creating activities and programmes which meet labour’s market needs, it will mean innovative teaching of better quality, - increasing abilities, attractiveness and international meaning of the school, - strengthening the synergy effects and strengthening the processes of conversion between formal education, non-formal education, vocational training and entrepreneurial attitudes. The project assumes students apprenticeships trip to hotels and restaurants in the UK. There will be one group of 16 students taken from 2nd and 3rd classes from the following profiles of study: nutrition and catering service technician, cook and waiter – vocational school (in November 2015) and the second group of 16 students from 2nd and 3rd classes form hospitality services and tourist services profiles (in April 2016). Each group of students will be taken care by two teachers. The implementation of the two-week apprenticeships, in reputed hotel and catering facilities of the British capital, will enrich and enhance the attractiveness of the vocational education process. That will significantly increase the mobility and competence of our graduates as well in Szczecin as on the regional and European labor market. The participating in the project will enable the realization of the assumed goals. The project fulfills the following participants needs: - to gain practical experience in restaurants and hotels, - to know the specifics of work under the European conditions, including using a technologically advanced equipment, - to improve the professional competences of catering and hospitality, - to develop language skills, mainly in the field of language training, - to expanse the knowledge of another country culture. The realization of the project will bring long-lasting benefits both for the participants as for the school, namely: - improvement of the quality of vocational and language training, - increase of outer students' interest in the school, and thus increase in its competitiveness on local educational market, - expansion of the international apprenticeships offers in cooperation with British employers, - after the graduation students will start their professional careers easier, For city and its boroughs participation in the project will mean: - increase of the attractiveness of vocational education in the region, - perfect promotion, - delivering on the labor market a better qualified and competent staff. It will result in improving the quality of services in the catering and hospitality. The assumed objectives of the apprenticeship are therefore: - gaining practical skills and work experience in catering and hotels fields, - gaining new qualifications and experience in the catering and hospitality, - acquiring the knowledge of new technologies not available at school or local employers, - acquiring the ability of better and more efficient customer service in hotels and restaurants according to their needs and European standards, - acquiring the knowledge about the cuisine of other nations, regions (working with products typical for regional cuisine), - acquiring the knowledge about the operational specifics of the English restaurants and hotels (culture, customs, customers and guests habits, effective English communication, - effective English communication and improving the efficiency of the usage of professional |English language, - encouraging others to learn foreign languages, - higher students motivation to learn The assumed objectives of the project are: - 16 participants will gain professional experience of working in restaurant in England, - 16 participants will gain professional experience of working in hotels/ travel offices in England, - 32 participants will gain language and cultural competences - 2 vocational teachers will gain the knowledge about technology and production processes in catering and tourism fields. - 1 English teacher will gain and broaden the knowledge about commonly used professional language.
