DONT BE A CLOWN IN YOUR LIFE-BUT LEARN FROM A CLOWN-CIRCUS ARTS AS A WAY OF INCLUSION AND WELL BEING-AN EXAMPLE FOR INCLUSION METHODS FOR EUROPEAN YOUNGSTERS
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Why we want to carry out this Project: In 2011, 115.5 million people in the EU were at risk of poverty and / or social exclusion. In Portugal 24.4% of the population is in the same state. 18% of its population is living below the poverty line. We emphasize that according to the statistics presented by OECDE, Portugal, between the developed countries in the world is in 36th position, the worse with the exception of three countries with GDP much lower than Portugal. How we intend to change this situation through the realization of this project? Issues and Needs to be Addressed by the project: The circus arts have a deep connection to social inclusion. Various experiences focusing on populations at risk of exclusion, demonstrated that through the use of circus arts, we can more easily contribute to inclusion.Exemples you can see in France, Brazil, or even in Lisbon, with Chapitô. Starting from the belief that personal development is crucial for a educaional / training and professional development, we understand that a youth exchange program with 40 participants from Latvia and Portugal, for a period of 15 days in the island of São Miguel and in Lisbon, and a program of activities with pedagogical character contributes without doubts for a growing point of young people.By using non formal education inside the major role model in circus art as inclusion organization in Portugal: Chapitô-Lisbon(training) and similutaneously in Rabo de peixe-Azores, where the scenario described above represents 80% of its population(practice). Methods and activities to be used/objectives: The Project "Dont Be a clown-But Learn to Be a Happy with the Clown" intends to base its structure into four elements: 1. Look and reflect - I and society 2. Healthy Living + physical activity - a lifestyle 3. Healthy Living + art + inclusion - a meaning to life 4. Sharing and gives meaning to life - Professional Guidance Personal Development: Own attitudes (I): a) healthy lifestyle habits; b) Improving your self-esteem and personal confidence in general. Social skills (the I/ relationship with third party): a) Intercultural dialogue, b) Joint, friendly and constructive C) Understanding acceptance of differences; Professional Development / Learning Knowledge (Tools to produce and entrepreneur) a)Historic b)Analytical skills and critical c) Cultural d) Social e) Economic (entrepreneur capacity of circus arts).; f) Language skills; g) Geographic; h) Sensory; i) Young Mobility; j) Incentive / Motivation / Orientation for a career k) Having Learning Experience by working in a teams, activities that promote communication, cooperation and collaboration and leadership skills domain, understanding and organization; Skills (Skills) Useful for achieving autonomy: Improving their performance in learning with use of non-formal and informal education associated with the circus as pedegógica component; a) To exalt the prospects of employability; b) Increase the initiative of young people themselves and their entrepreneurial skills (self-employment) with use of creativity and the arts; c) improve their language skills; d) Raising awareness of young people in relation to the European project; e) Provision of tools that promote inclusion solutions through circus arts; f) An operational translation of ideas, by giving responsibility to young people, to analyze g) their role in society, and particularly in the creative area, sport and education; 1.Objectives 2.Why its falls under Ka1 Erasmus +: In addition to the specific objectives, we want young people to improve their starting point. By having to do an analysis of their current situation and together with the facilitators of the project, detect points to improveor issues to adress related to confidence, self-esteem, relationships, educational failures and professional desires , gain skills and knowledge, improve skills recognition. Furthermore, young people by working in multinational and multidisciplinary teams and with concrete actions and objectives to be realized and attained and thus themselves and through a set of activities such as Workshops, Reflections, Simulations in real scenarios, practical experimentation and real , contact with experts who will support and will start and end feedback about personal and professional development / training guidance and contact with civil society, political, social, cultural actors, religious, regional, local, national and European, surely this project will be a point growth for the young participants. More than the believe that experiences like these by combining the circus arts non-formal / informal education and yet resorting to other types of knowledge, training methods, we want to develop a European platform: "Dont be a Clown in Life, but learn how to be happy with a clown "at European level, with access for all stakeholders of resources to implement social projects including young people with Erasmus + funding the actions.
