Don’t Stop, Keep On Dancing
Start date: Aug 18, 2014, End date: Jun 17, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project is designed for performance of joint activities by the young people from different cultures via using the universal language of arts through social and cultural activities. Our project allows the young people to express their emotions, thoughts and cultures through dance; and aims to contribute to physical and spiritual development of the young people. Our Project will be implemented by 24 young people under partnership of Turkey and Greece within the scope of Erasmus+ Youth Mobility Programme. The project activities will be implemented in Kahramanmaras from 6th to 20th October 2014. It is rather serious and important to incorporate the young people into activities, which will contribute to their social, personal, physical and spiritual development. The impact of art on the spirit/psychology, spiritual health and spiritual unity of the human beings; and taking place in artistic activities for personal and social development of individuals are all wide accepted notions by the developed societies. Art education within the current education system and curriculum does not satisfy the interests and desires of the young people and does not allow them to take place in the artistic areas as much as they wish, and keeps them far from practical studies within rote-learning education system. The fact that social and cultural shares between the young people have become so limited in today's world, psychological problems hindering personal development and bringing unfavorable behaviors such as stress and depression, which are defined as the diseases of the age, and the immobile style of life contrary to physical health and control influence the young people and endangers their future. Today's living conditions cause the young people to lose their control on their bodies and hence to have psychological, sociologic and physiologic problems. Embracing so many forms of art, dancing helps the young people express their feelings and thoughts and put their body into improvisation process completely; regulates health and moving capability thanks to movement education; improves personal creativity, and provides and cultural and unitary environment. It also allows the young people to establish internal connections with the other forms and disciplines of arts such as drama, music, aesthetic concern and balance. For this reason, dancing fits to the verbal and non-verbal transfer of especially perception and thinking. Folk dances, which incorporate cultural forms in it, provides a wide vision for recognition of cultures. The young people, who will participate in the project activities, will carry out practical studies, introductory presentations, cultural sharings and artistic activities; and will use so many methods such as presentation, expression, implementation, investigation and evaluations within this scope.
