DOMUS FUTURA
Start date: Nov 1, 2014, End date: Oct 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Project DomusFutura wants to propose an VET mobility to 60 students of 4th and 5th years, attending the technical network high schools: ITI ‘G. Marconi’ in Bari, ITI ‘G. Ferraris ‘in Molfetta, I.T.C. ‘D. Romanazzi ‘ in Bari. The catchment belong to the regional cluster of mechatronics (MEDIS), which finds its epicenter in the regional chief town. The students come from technology sectors (Mechanics and Mechatronics, Energy, Information and Communication Technology) and economic sectors ( Administration and Marketing). The catchment area is an oasis of development in a region characterized by high rates of youth unemployment and an economic and social fabric damaged by both structural and cyclical problems. To counter this, the Region of Puglia wanted to create clusters of excellence in its territory, to establish the strategic tools that can aggregate the best area of expertise. The project focuses on one hand on the development of new industries sectors typical of MEDIS (mechatronics and home/building automation, particular declined in asocial way), on the other hand the ability of clusters to anticipate trends and represent an experimental laboratory (thanks to cooperation between businesses, the propensity to invest, to access new markets and to the vocation to sustainability). Faced with the first positive results of the Cluster, the Project aims to support the challenge of internationalization of MEDIS, working on the development needs of a) competitive technological skills b) managerial figures able to quickly understand the market demand and reformulate organizational strategies c) the social innovation, tending to design an economic model that as defined by Europe 2020 Strategy, must be smart, sustainable and inclusive. The schools are already active in the Dual System path. The net leader acceded in 2012 to the LLP-Leonardo da Vinci-Multilateral Partnerships ‘EREI-VET’ promoted by ITC ‘Romanazzi.’ The aim is the creation of a sustainable network of European regions in order to increase mobility in education and vocational training. Considered this, the countries chosen for mobility are Germany, Spain, Lithuania, Ireland. The hosting partners are mostly members of the ECVET network with clearly established management experience of training programmes; they use procedures able to allow the recognition of learning outcomes by the sending schools. The validation and recognition of professional experience will be done by ECVET procedures, as decided with specific agreements with partners. This will allow the acknowledgement of learning outcomes and the release the Europass Mobility Document and Certificate of Competence The consortium has the support of a significant partnership intermediary consisting of educational institutions, cooperatives, local authorities, businesses and stakeholders. This reflects the need of the territory to strengthen the cluster foundations in a perspective of long-term competitiveness and sustainability.
