„Mathematic maturity in preschool – the key to success” project was created to guarantee optimal intellectual development for children in mathematics. After carrying out few researches we’ve diagnosed that out pupils get lower scores in mathematics education than in other fields. That is why we want to participate in series of training courses in Finland and Cyprus so we could upgrade our skills. Aims:- Upgrading teacher’s professional competences during European courses, gaining practical skills to teach mathematics effectively. IT and language skills perfection.- Developing creative and innovative methods which would help us to equip children in necessary knowledge and skills letting them succeed with learning.- Teaching parents so they could introduce to their children the interesting world of mathematics in an active and effective way.All our teachers are involved in this project because we want to ensure the optimal effects of the project achievements. The teachers have a perennial seniority, they are highly qualified and have an experience in European cooperation. Actions description:- Specify the priorities in teaching mathematics basing on the results of mathematic diagnosis. Teaching children through emotions and practical actions during diverse operations. Internalize knowledge through regularity of actions.- Schedule the tasks and aims for „Mathematic maturity in preschool – the key to success” project for years 2016 – 2018.- The project sets up a combination of functional teaching with diverse forms of cognitive activity. It will happen through children independent experiences engaging mind and emotions.- Establishing cooperation with training centers in Finland (Structured Study Visit to Schools/Institutes & Training Seminar) and Cyprus (The new method of using mathematics communication activities for improving the teaching and learning of mathematic).- Self-perfecting, using best practice and increasing the virtual mobility.- Workshop enrichment, studying practical solutions used in Finland and Cyprus.- Continuing the cooperation with an internet platform “Edukacja na nowo”.- Systematic monitoring of project aims realization (survey for parents, lesson control card and mathematic skills maturity diagnosis).- Project popularization – workshops for teachers, letting out a brochure with lesson scripts, organizing mathematic feast, Internet publications.Expected results:- Teachers have practical skills for organizing math classes in creative and innovative way.- Deploy the effective methods of teaching mathematics used in European countries. - Raised motivation for developing foreign language skills.- Our own work effects and European countries experience comparison.- Well trained teaching staff will become the foundation for teaching children in a creative way and to inspire parents in terms of teaching mathematics.- Children will gain specified mathematic knowledge and skills resource which will help them to start school education.Project impact:- Teaching staff: get to know and deploy in their work the European countries experience.- Kindergarteners: through fun and experimenting they will gain skills which will help them in the future with daily life and school education.- Our pupils’ parents: will get familiar with many interesting forms of mathematic games and support their children in developing mathematic abilities.Taking part in the project is also a chance for getting to know the habits and the cultural variety of European countries, as well as it is a way to build European community by cognizing games together and cultivating creativity and imagination.Our preschool, as a facility which introduces innovative work methods, is creating, supporting and establishing their own positive image as a preschool dutiful about needs of its’ pupils and using modern forms of education.
