Context / Background In the background of economic globalization, it is important, in addition to academically trained to grant also people in vocational training foreign experiences to meet the needs of the world of work and the labor market. An - albeit short – stay abroad within the framework of vocational training shows the mobility of participants, their outstanding commitment and their raising employability. Objectives Goals, in addition to improving foreign language skills and professional competence, are mainly promoting self-confidence and initiative as well as the development of tolerance to other cultures and peoples. The described objectives meet the needs of ECVET and will be documented with the europassMobility and europassLanguage. A not unimportant side effect is that with the “Kaufmann International Certificate (AHK)” another formal certificate, an in Germany acknowledged document, will be reached. Participants Group The participants are all in initial vocational training in the dual system, or have completed the dual VET recently successfully. The participants are recruited primarily from the professions bank clerks and industrial management assistants. Besides, also achievement-weaker find consideration. Activities In addition to schooling and language support, find self-regulated learning, working on economic issues with presenting the results as well as excursions to be held in London’s City based companies. The 40 participants are nominated by training companies, which enjoy an excellent reputation for practical vocational training, but who see a clear need to improve the language skills of their trainees and future employees. In addition, a cultural program is offered with mandatory and optional elements. The flows are planned for the following dates: 1. Flow: 19th April 2015 to 09th May 2015 2. Flow: 17th April to 07th May 2016 Intended results and impact Measurable results in terms of the development of language competence should be able to be derived by the repeated self-evaluation by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). With the increasing knowledge of the language and foreign experience itself the participants will be prepared to move well in an unknown environment which increases employability as well as their future chances on the labor market. The sending training companies can be sure to find an attractive and up-to-date programme in order to attract more potential job trainees. The awareness of Europe will also be strengthened as well.
