A lot of energy (gas and oil) transmission lines pass through our country, due to our geographical location. This situation raises our country in a very important position both in terms of the geopolitical and economic aspects. Power transmission lines are facilities where qualified personnel needed most, as well as being high cost of building groups. In particular, under construction of transmission lines the demand for qualified welder increases for having greater pipe welding works. The project has been designed for the operation of existing pipelines currently and to train skilled labor who will be working in pipelines which will be built in the future. And it has been delivered at Dudley College located in Dudley which is regarded as the center of the industrial revolution in England. Dudley College is a well-known education institution in Europe with its student-centered approach to education and professional training staff providing international education, transferring current technology quickly to the educational environment. 5 apprentices and 18 students have participated in the project, who have been studying in Installation Technology and Air Conditioning departments of Fatih Vocational and Technical High School, Tercan Vocational and Technical High School, Refahiye multi-programmed Anatolian Highschool and Erzincan Vocational Training Center. Our participants have 3 year experience in metal filing, straightening, pipe extrusion welding with oxy-gas, cutting with oxy-gas, corner welding, horizontal pipe beam welding, grinding, filling welding, metal annealing, MIG-MAG welding and hot cutting electric arc welding and they were receiving vocational training at the enterprises on the date when the project was being implemented. The participants have been selected among the students who were successful in the past, participated in the project competition as TUBITAK and so on., improved language skills and developed in the social aspect and eager to improve their language skills. The most important needs of the participants is to have knowledge and experience in advanced welding technology to improve their employability in the field of gas pipeline welding mainly in business discipline to be able to employed at foreign companies. It is intended with the project to train the qualified personnel needed in the area the investments to be made in our country where energy (oil, gas) routes crossing, to ensure staff, who have been trained through modern languages, employed in international companies, to gain qualified personnel to common European labor market and to ensure taking part in the involvement in the world market of our companies providing services in this area in Turkey. And the activities under the working programme have been completed for achieving these goals. With the project the development of vocational and technical education system in our province have been contributed, the sharing of practical innovation and quality developments have been provided. In addition, personal development, employment and labor market participation support of the participants have been provided through increasing the attractiveness of vocational and technical education in our province. Ensuring regional development, the reduction of regional socio-economic imbalances, supporting small- and medium-sized, promotion of efficient investments and the investments which aimed at employment, improvement of infrastructure, making information and the experience transfer, ensuring rural development, ensuring social and economic cohesion, quality of life, employment creation and inter-regional development of solidarity and to be able to realize the goals have been contributed such as strengthening the economic structure in the scope of North East Development Plans (KUDAKA ), by increasing the capacity of needed qualified personnel, the human resources of SMEs has been developed. The support was provided for the institutionalization of business companies in the sector. With the implementation of the project the desired goal is reached at the end of the year providing the mobility in Europe of the students of vocational and technical education, in the development of the ability to collaborate by increasing the cooperation between the organizations working in the field of gas fittings and advanced welding technology and vocational and technical educational institutions and the most important is ECVET loans and has contributed to the transformation of the experiences gained with the project Europass documents by certifying them. At the end of the project the most important outcomes in terms of participants in the assessment made by project management team is; the realization of personal development above the expectations. In particular, despite the insufficient academic achievement of the apprentices, they have shown success on English language training and this has been appreciated by the whole team.
