Meeting the needs of its students, the Secondary Schools Complex in Malbork No 3 prepares the youth to find their own place in more and more demanding job market. Creating friendly educating atmosphere the school enables the students to achieve a wide range of professions such as hotel management technician, tourism service technician, logistics technician, information technology technician. The school involves students in numerous community and charity events which influences cultivating their characters. Thanks to the professional staff and the headmaster Mr Stawicki who is a very energetic and open to innovations person, the school is a leader in vocational schools rankings The number of students who succeeded in plentiful vocational competitions as well as high results of the final exams, which are much better than local and national results, prove the fact of the quality of the school and making the right decisions. Close cooperation and visiting the colleges educating in similar occupations, undoubtedly bear fruits. Such events as meetings with successful business people also help our students look forward positively. “A good profession opens the entrance to Europe” is a project which the Secondary Schools Complex in Malbork No 3 is going to elaborate together with the foreign business partner ADC College. The aim of the project is to use and develop the professional skills altogether with Information Technology, as well as social, personal and language skills. That will enable the trainees to gain work experience, professional awareness by finding out about opportunities and perspectives of the chosen occupation and enhance the chances to get a job. Enabling the students to participate in apprenticeship in foreign companies, which apply modern technologies and European standards, will help the trainees obtain professional competences in the future workplaces thanks to new abilities such as language, interpersonal and culture skills. The project presents the idea of four- week professional apprenticeship, prepared for September/ October 2015, for thirty students from the third technical classes in the occupations of: hotel management, tourism service, logistics, information technology technicians. There are also two attendant teachers who take care of the participating students. The school is responsible for recruitment and preparing the participants of the project to departure. The students are to take part in series of classes which are especially arranged to equip them with the appropriate knowledge about culture, character of professions and other useful information. The participants will take language tests to check their language skills. The transit from Malbork to the destination place is ensured. ADC College organizes stay at chosen host families, that will be a chance for the students to familiarize with British culture and practice their language skills. Accommodation will be supervised by the teachers. Full board is also provided to the participants by the host families. Additionally, all the participants will be insured. ADC College is also responsible for choosing appropriate places of apprenticeship, accordingly to the aims of the project, as well as for commuting of the participants. Planned accomplishment of the apprenticeship will be inspected by checking notes in the apprenticeship journals and on visits. The journals and a detailed plan will be prepared before the beginning. The supervisors will be responsible for marking the students’ apprenticeship time. The mark is an integrated part of the journal and it will be the primary and essential part to complete the training. ADC College in agreement with the employers will deliver a special document certifying completing the apprenticeship. The participants will have the chance to accomplish the apprenticeship, develop their passions and broaden professional knowledge. Taking part in such project will influence personal development of the participants, increase their independence, responsibility and resourcefulness, it will rise their self-confidence and self – esteem as well as improve their self- assessment. Achieved competences will be confirmed with Europass Mobility document. By participating in the project the school will increase the attractiveness of vocational educating program and will improve its quality. That will be the chance to indicate where new development’s and work’ s perspectives are. The position of school in the local environment as well as regarding the school by the local society will also benefit. By completing the project the school will develop even closer relationship with the students’ parents, local businesspeople, administration units and press.
