Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project entitled ,,A good start in professional life " as a part of Progamme Erazmus + has been designed for a group of 16 students of the second class at the Secondary School of Hotel Administration in Więcbork training to be a specialist in nutrition technology and catering services. Our school gathers young people from areas being encompassed with high unemployment and economic marginalization. Thus, our project corresponds with local and regional trade needs and it will bring benefits such as raising level of providing gastronomy services in our local area by delivering professional gastronomy staff. The main aim of the project is to do a good internship in Germany, develop professional competence and improve German language skills including professional skills terminology. Trainees will be expanding their knowledge in the area of new solutions practiced in German gastronomic business and will adapt them to domestic ground. Participating in the project and receiving Europass and Ecvet certificates confirming acquired professional abilities will enhance considerably the beneficiaries chances of finding a job in the more and more demanding European labour market as well as it will encourage them to establish their own companies. Working as a trainee will allow them to familiarize themselves with flexible forms of employment. Both new professional and personal experiences enable our students to change passivity based attitude, which is typical of many families in our region being unemployed for long periods, for an active and enterprising approach to the employment. Furthermore, participating in the cultural programme in Poland and in Germany aims to expand beneficiaries socio-cultural knowledge and acquaint with realities of life in Germany, increase intercultural awareness, European values, reinforce sense of national identity as well as develop the attitude of openness and tolerance for other cultures. During classes in the cultural programme in Poland and above all at internship students will be improving their language competence noticeably. The necessity of speaking German will allow them to put into practice as well as develop acquired skills, which as an anticipated result will be growth of motivation and involvement in further studying foreign languages. In addition, getting along with people from different nationalities will build up beneficiaries capacities for adaptation, which will allow them to develop their intercultural awareness marked with an attitude of respect for gender differences, skin colour, language, and religion, thereby counteracting against all forms of discrimination. Apart from that, the implementation of the project is closely connected with enrichment of school offer within the scope of practical training with its promotion in the local area and popularization of European education' projects in our region. Moreover, the project intends to establish an international cooperation with entrepreneurs in the gastronomy sector as well as with Susanna-Eger-Berufsschule /Centre for Professional Education/ in Leipzig. The planned period of the traineeship is four weeks. It will occur in May 2016. Students will go to the town Schkeuditz, where they will be accommodated by hosting organization Vitalis.
