The youth unemployment is one of the major issues that our modern society has to deal with. More and more often the young people are facing difficulties in realizing their professional capacity after graduating from their formal education. Employers often require work experience that young people are not able to accumulate during their education. The labor market requires skills and capacities related to the communication in foreign language, presentation skills, teamwork, tolerance, communication skills for working with people from different backgrounds and working in a multicultural environment. These are skills that cannot always be gained by the youths during the period of their formal education. Young people in Europe are experiencing difficulties also because of their lack of relevant experience. In Association FOR YOU we believe that throughout involvement in mobility projects and non-formal education the young people can gain an irreplaceable opportunity of acquiring experience, knowledge and skills to support them in their future career. Therefore, with this project we aim to support the acquisition of skills and competencies of young people in terms of their personal development and suitability for the employment of the European labor market, to help them develop their social skills and communication skills in a foreign language. Through the planned activities we will raise awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries of the participants, will encourage them to participate actively in the public life and to develop a sense of European citizenship and identity. This project will reinforce synergies and transitions between formal, non-formal education, employment and entrepreneurship and through it will be increased the international dimension of partner organizations so that they are able to offer activities and programs that better meet the needs of people in within and outside Europe. The project "Volunteering in Varna" is an exchange between organizations from Germany, Portugal, Spain and Bulgaria. The project includes five foreign youngsters who will take part in a long-term volunteer service in Varna, Bulgaria. Through this project, volunteers will gain new knowledge and skills and will increase their personal and professional development. Will raise their sense of anti-discrimination, tolerance and understanding of others, will encourage them to think about the European society and its values, their role as a responsible and active citizens of the present and future Europe. The people with whom the volunteers will work will improve their skills to interact with people of different ethnicity and backgrounds, will learn about life and culture of other European countries and improve their skills in communication in foreign language; they will learn how the youth abroad have fun and how to become more tolerant and overcome prejudices towards other cultures. Thanks to the project “Volunteering in Varna” we will increase the number of volunteers in the city and promote voluntaryism on its territory. People and organizations at the local level will be introduced to the possibilities of the international youth activity and the role of Erasmus + in it, which in the long run will open up new prospects for cooperation and initiatives in this area and attract new participants in the program. Partners at local, national and international level as well as the local community will understand how the young people can and do join in initiatives of social contribution, how the active participation of young people and their active citizenship assist in solving the problems of the youth and learn about the positive effect of volunteering.
