Dobra praktyka to lepsza przyszłość - zagraniczny staż dla młodzieży ZSZ w Gostyniu.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The "Good practice is a better future - a foreign internship for young people in Gostyń Technical Vocational Complex." was written with a view to students of Year I and II of vocational school educating professions cook, carpenter, and Year III and IV of technical trainee of Technician of Tourist Services. The selection of participants was limited to only those that the program of professional practice is consistent with their theoretical knowledge at school, in accordance with the curriculum. We planned a group of 25 students of the Vocational School to go on a two-week internship in Frankfurt. Gaining new experience and skills combined with previously acquired theoretical knowledge in school, vocational school students prepared a "finished product", which is a wooden pavilion exhibition, the picture in the Annex, (prepared by carpenters); cooks learned to cook German food and organized the German School Day, in which they served to students selected German cuisine. In addition to tasting, they also handed out a leaflet with the hottest, in their opinion, receipts. Entrepreneurship of cooks in Germany also concerned issues related to storage of food, and the elements of the economic rights associated with gastronomy. This subject was implemented in the form of workshops. Carpenters, besides performing the pavilion learned how to perform the traditional manual methods of joinery, they learned to use power tools and make precise measurements. Students from the technical school prepared a short video with the most important, in their opinion, rules for working in the lodging facility. This video has been posted on the school's website, on social networking sites, and will be a teaching material for the following classes of learners in the Technical Tourist Services. Every time, while executing projects of foreign internships for young people, we want to create the final product. We noticed that the product that remains for a long time, is of great importance for the promotion of projects and ideas with the dissemination of the results. Students repeatedly point out what they have done independently, often remembering information, which were quickly forgotten. Parents who see the final product, often communicate with friends and family sharing the information concerning their child's participation in a specific project, thanks to that, the idea of promoting the projects is more effective and long-lasting. The idea of the project was born after talks with students who have come forward with a request to supplement the theoretical knowledge to allow for additional practice. Taking into account the suggestions of students, conducted a consultation with the organization of employers in our region, i.e. The Guild of Handicraft in Gostyń, with representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises in our county, in which our students take apprenticeship and vocational teachers and counselor training. Students of Technical Vocational Complex come mainly from rural areas that do not have the capacity, to expand their knowledge, learn new skills and improve them in innovative ways. We also expected that the students after the entrepreneurship , would increase his/her chances of employment not only in the region. Students were introduced to a different system of vocational training. In Poland, our students are offered practical training in the workplace, where very often not enough time and attention is given to them to be able to obtain the relevant qualifications. Students after graduation often cannot find work in their profession due to insufficient practical skills. Participation in the project contributed to the personal development of students and the local community, and has had a positive impact on the image and attractiveness of the school.
