Do local think local
Start date: Aug 3, 2015, End date: Feb 2, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Do local think global” or “Agir local, penser global” is a project which aims to involve young people from five different EU member countries ( German, Grece, Poland, Spain and France) to exchange, build and disseminate proposals to contribute to fight against climate change. This project is called “Do local” because it has the ambition to valorize the good practices which exist in the Picard territory (environmental protection including wetlands, educational gardens in the “ hortillonnages” of Amiens, object reuse, etc.) comparing this the participants are experienced in their countries, where they live. It is called also “”Think global” because the climate change doesn't know any border, such as the image of the butterfly's flapping wings, our actions, our lives every day through our consumption, our homes, movements have a global impact, here or wherever else in the world. Participants will be between 16 and 25 years, the methods of recruitment will not be based on their environmental skills but on their motivation to live this experience, then share and play a multiplier role in their respective countries and particularly during the conference that will take place in Paris. During the whole youth exchange, they will be strongly involved in the project, through community life by contributing to prepare the meals, through animations, a workcamp day, picking vegetables for example. At the end, their creative minds, their debating skills, build a shared and collective voice will be strongly used to reach in two weeks to write a "book" proposal to be submitted to policy makers here and then use in their countries.
