Ðokit-shock it
Start date: Feb 1, 2008,

Association "Non-material Wealth Fund" by its project "Ðokit - Shock it" aims to contribute to the development of initiative, pro-activity and responsibility among young people. The project is also intended to help solving problems related to social and geographical-related disparities and problems within the society. These aims are to be put in practice by attractively introducing and enhancing popularity of traditional dances. During the course of the project, there will be an innovative tool for learning/teaching folk dances created - a DVD containing folk dance lessons. The project team will also invite 20 other youngsters (age 15-20) from different regions of Lithuania to contribute to the creation of the DVD. These youngsters will be also trained as traditional dance trainers/leaders, and enabled to organize traditional dance events by themselves. The project activities will take place at different places (towns, villages) in Lithuania). This will be done in order to bring some more cultural liveliness and to foster youth initiative within the communities that normally are deprived of some opportunities. In the project "Ðokit - Shock it", the dissemination of its results and possibilities for continuity are also emphasized. In the process of propagation and engagement to the traditional cultural activities, the organizers will be also spreading information on possibilities for youth initiatives and other opportunities within the "Youth in Action" program.
