“DIVERSITY leads to TOLERANCE?: Sharing and exchanging ideas and experiences on differences and similarities in the context of current issues” is a Youth exchange organized in the Netherlands from the 18-26 June 2016. There is uneasiness in our society because of the arrival of the thousands of refugees. With the negative media and the influence of extreme right politics it easily can turn into a tone of intolerance, fear and fuel for xenophobia against refugees and migrants. A group of young people in Rijswijk were concerned about these tendency creating fear and prejudice which in turn building another wall and the mind walls are growing higher day by day. This Youth Exchange focuses to develop the critical thinking and tolerance in the mind of the teenagers/youth during the exchange and there after. When millions of people in the world are going through one of the worst displacement emergencies of the recent times, through this project we call for more tolerance and understanding for the plight of refugees. This project can transmit the fundamental common values of our society , particularly among the young people. This can prevent the violent radicalization of youth. This project help to increase the sensitivity within the local communities to tolerant the different kinds of diversities and the actual problem of immigrants. The project uses as a method the current stories, events, and provocations to create a possible awareness, solutions and disseminate information on the topic of tolerance often in the informal and through playful method. They will intermingle with local youth in The Netherlands from different technical backgrounds. The working program combine several working methods like workshops, role play, presentation, discussions, cultural evenings, integration games, excursions, etc. In this way want to adopt to a true spirit of humanity in helping those who have been forced out of their countries against their own will and choice and are currently seeking safety in Europe. The participants will have a big role in the creation, preparation and the carrying out of the project.The groups will compose of youngsters between the age of 16 to 22 years old and one group leader from each partner countries. We will have 25 young people from four different countries and they will gather to exchange and share ideas, experiences on differences and similarities in the context of current issues that will help build solutions for the future.
