The project strategy has three main pillars that will go together: development of thematic tourism routes; promotion; development of innovative model in the tourism sector. The development of thematic tourism routes will be subcontracted. A group of external experts will survey, discuss and define at minimum 7 thematic routes. The group of external experts will cover the whole tourism cycle - destinations, services, marketing and promotion including places for accommodation and rest. The survey will identify nature, culture and heritage sites in the cross border region as well as tourist attraction, tradition, etc. The promotion of these thematic tourism routes is essential of the success of the project. Will tell people from the region, from the capital, from the whole of world, that they can come in our cross border region in order to spend nice and useful their time. The routes will be promoted through leaflets, workshops, movie film, demo tours, exhibition brokerage, etc. And thus the second pillar in the project strategy will improve the image of the cross border region and the help to the tourism development. The final pillar will bring to develop and to introduce innovative model in the tourism sector. Two infokiosks will be bought under the project and will be installed in accessible places in Montana and Nish. In the infokiosks will be provided all useful information about of the new develop tourism products: digital map of at least 7 thematic routes, description of the tourism sites, landmarks, places for accommodation and rest, and all the supporting infrastructure and services. The strategy of the proposed project is going to address the constraints and is expected to respond accordingly to the needs identified. Achievements: The project envisioned and achieved the following results:- Developed Study "Thematic tourism - opportunity for development and promoting of the cross border area Montana-Nishava" and identified new 7 tourist routes;- Developed and distributed movie presentation for new 7 tourist routes;- Established of a Cross Border Association of SMEs, organizations and persons from tourist field;- Conducted 7 workshops for representatives of SMEs, organizations, museums, galleries, NGOs on the themes of the thematic routes identified;- Organized and conducted 2 Demo tours for local authorities, media and representatives of the Association in Montana and in Nish;- Organized and conducted of an International conference "Cross border thematic tourism - means of promoting regional identity Montana and Nishava";- Organized and conducted Exhibition – Brokerage in Nish;- Development innovative software for the info kiosks;- Established 2 Tourist Information Centres /info kiosks/ - in Montana and in Nish;The project was successfully completed in January 2014.
