Discover the European Values!
Start date: Apr 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our present Youth Exchange is part of a long-term project series. The next episode, in 2016 will be about stereotypes that Central and Eastern European countries have against each other as well as about the similarities and differences between the participating countries using non-formal and informal methods. Our tool in puppetry, storytelling and national puppet traditions. The groups prepare a puppet show in their home country for the exchange, which will focus on the stereotypes that their home country has towards the Eastern and Central European countries taking part in this present exchange. Young people also can guess in their own puppet show the following: how other Central and Eastern European participating countries see the other nations, what stereotypes they have towards the participating countries? The youth exchange helps to strengthen solidarity and tolerance.During the exchange after the presentation and evaluation of the puppet shows brought from home, participants will get to know each other better through games and workshops. After that, they will create a brand new common story through the universal language of self-made puppets, which focuses on young people’s ideas and express how young people envision increasingly diverse Europe’s future with the hope of peaceful coexistence. The common tales will be presented to the local community. The primary concerns are active participation of young people, feasibility, display of Europeanness as a value and that the project is internationally innovative and interesting to the participants and useful to the society as a whole. During the exchange of small-group workshops, presentations, informal and non-formal education methods are used. We plan long-term cooperation with the project partners.Number of Days: 6 + 2 travel daysParticipating countries: Poland, Romania, Ukraine and HungaryNumber of participants: 4 young people and 1 leader from 4 countries: 20 people (including the group leaders)Date of the Youth Exchange: 14 to 21 August 2016.Venue of the Youth Exchange: Debrecen, Hungary
