THE AIM AND CONTENT OF THE PROJECT Today, English has become a necessity for many occupations. In addition workers improving their general knowledge of English, it is expected from them to have a good level of Vocational English. The knowledge of English has a great deal of not only in one’s personal growth but also in his career progression. Our school is a vocational training body which has been established and proceeding by the protocol signed between The Turkish Textile Foundation and Ministry of Education. Because of the planning made by the Turkish Textile Foundation and also our occupational life we need to use English actively in correspondences, career days, fairs, international conferences and meetings. In those kinds of situations having an advanced level and skill of English can play role in improving ourselves vocationally in our career. By this Project it is targeted to have our 12 Textile Technologies teachers to participate in “Course Of Vocational English For Textile” for 12 days. The aims of our project are: To have participants catch the opportunity of learning and consolidating the updated vocational terminology while they are improving their general knowledge of English. To increase the mastery on vocational language by improving technical terms and ways of expression, and to improve terminology and communication types of this field. To have participants gain more value in their personal lives and careers. To catch potential opportunities of projects abroad by improving vocational English. To have a grasp of the vocational jargon. To enable participants having a grasp of the language in their field by doing active presentations and correspondences in English and to ensure them to be at the level of being able to participate in international meetings, seminars and fairs. To be able to follow the periodicals in English about the field. As lab and atelier teachers to improve our chances of giving quality education to our students in our field. By the guidance of atelier and lab teachers, to encourage our students participation in national and international competitions To create awareness among our teachers about using the EUROPASS attachments to increase the mobility in national and international education and employment market. To develop new joint projects by working together with the foundations in our field in EU countries to strengthen the cooperative studies in vocational education To increase the job opportunities by increasing the quality of the students by educating them in the light of new knowledge. NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS; Participants will be formed of executives and Textile teachers. 12 teachers who have at least 3 years of experience will participate in this project. DEFINITION OF THE ACTIVITES OCTOBER 2015: Publishing the results of the project and establishing Project Administration Team. November 2015: Project preliminary meeting and preparation of the documents and presentations for informing the candidate participants. - Process of determining the host country partner. Informing and choosing the participants. Signing the learning agreement with the participants. DECEMBER 2015: Signing contract and learning agreement with the overseas partner. Finalizing the date of mobility. Signing the grant agreement. Signing beneficiary agreement with the participants. JANUARY – JUNE 2016: Vocational and cultural preparations. Motivational and team spirit improving activities. Informational studies about the destination country. Getting passports, planning the trip, planning the accommodation and risk avoidance studies. JULY – 2016: Performing mobility – making the course. JUNE – SEPTEMBER 2016: Dissemination activities. OCTOBER 2016: Submittal of the final report to the National Agency METHODOLOGY; Project will be conducted by using clear, fair, participative, shared responsibility and active evaluation methods. ANTICIPATED RESULTS AND EFFECTS; Our atelier and vocational teachers who are lecturing in the field of textile technology will get up their vocational foreign language to a certain level and increase their qualities by this vocational English course. They will be able to reach out to any foreign originated information. The participants will be able to read and understand the guidance booklets about setting up, maintenance and repair of all kinds of machinery. The quality of the education will be increased. They will be able to participate in the international fairs, conferences, seminars and symposiums in their field. They will be able to improve themselves by following English articles and periodicals published in their professional area. They will be able to meet up with the demands of the market by improving the textile education quality that the school is providing. Vocational English will be an optional subject. By this there will be a workforce in the market.
