Digital kompetens för modersmålslärare
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Aug 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project “Digital competence for first language teachers” is linked to the goals of the European union, Sweden, Eskilstuna Municipality as well as the Mångkulturella enheten’s (MKE’s) goals for education and internationalization. ångkulturella enheten (MKE) which means Multicultural unit, consists of teachers who have different first languages and who teach children in their mother tongue at different schools within Eskilstuna municipality. MKE seeks funding for eleven people who will participate in ICT courses in Europe. The courses are profiled and targeted for teachers who want to increase their use of digital tools in their work. First language teachers working in MKE have a varying knowledge in the ICT field which is why it is important to increase the digital competence of the staff. Desired results for the project are that teaching will become more attractive and effective. This will lead to an increase in student motivation and an interest in learning first languages. Also, we believe that students will more likely succeed in school and continue their education after primary school.
