Different abilities common activities
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Dec 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Youth exchange "Different abilities common activities" was an initiative of a group of young people with and without disabilities who wanted to collectively shape the surrounding reality and actively work at the international level. During the exchange young people focused on what they have in common and are interested in - on their passions, and thus built a relationship, understanding, confidence in their own abilities, as well as overcame stereotypes. They wanted to promote the active participation of disabled people in social life of Europe. Participants of the exchange were 28 people (20 young people with and without disabilities, aged 17-25 and 6 group leaders with 2 assistants) from Poland, Great Britain, Turkey, Sweden and Romania. During their visit to Poland in the Kashubian region (19-28.06.2015) participants shared their passions and interests through independently organized and carried out activities. Based on peer education and the use of their own potential participants will learnt from each other and get inspired for the future. Thanks to the participation and organization of the joint venture participants learnt about their peers from other countries and found out that regardless of race, religion, or degree of physical fitness they have much in common - they expanded their horizons, became more tolerant and open-minded. Young people built their self-esteem and found that it is worth being active because together they can shape the surrounding reality.
